The Soap Co Edinburgh was established in 2004 to produce and sell high quality handmade soap and bathroom products. We wanted to recreate products that hold on to old fashioned methods and recipes without compromising on quality, and at the same time reflect the contemporary feel of Edinburgh.

A small business with a social conscience, we try to source our ingredients locally and are moving to becoming even more environmentally responsible. Everyone at the Soap Co takes pride in being involved in what we do and are knowledgeable about our products. You only need to look at the visitors book to see the quality service we offer.

Our best seller is our hard bar soaps made using the traditional cold-process method. This involves the products being cured for 3-4 weeks on special drying racks, the result is a natural soap that is kind and gentle to your skin. Unlike manufactured soaps this traditional method retains a high content of glycerine which locks moisture into the skin. Our products are made using no sodium tallowate, which is an animal fat and is widely used in the production of commercial soaps.

We do not test our products on animals.
